Event Details

With the best wishes for the New Year, we are pleased to invite you to submit a paper to the Special Issue "Social Support and Social Networks in Long-Term Conditions" to be published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health under the section "Health Care Sciences & Services":

https://www.mdpi.com/journal/ijerph/special_issues/support_conditions

The rationale of this CfP is the growing shift of health and social care systems towards person-centered approaches, highlighting the importance of the individual's social environment as a critical source of support and care. Therefore, this special issue focuses on studying social support and social networks for individuals with long term conditions and their caregivers. It seeks papers on new research aimed at (a) increasing knowledge about the role of social support and social networks in the health of individuals living with long term conditions and (b) proposing models of care that could be successful and sustainable. From a design point of view, we shall consider quantitative, qualitative, mixed methods, and literature reviews concerning the topic.

The team of guest editors is formed by Rosario Fernández-Peña (Department of Nursing, SALBIS Research Group, Nursing Research Group IDIVAL, University of Cantabria, Spain), María Carmen Portillo-Vega (Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Southampton, United Kingdom), and José Luis Molina (Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology, GRAFO, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Spain).

The International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health is indexed in JCR, Q1 or Q2 (depending of the field ok knowledge) with an impact factor of 2.468. The journal is open source and applies a fee for accepted papers.

The SI deadline for manuscript submissions is April 30, 2021.

Please, do not hesitate to contact with us for further details.
